00SUMMARY
STDIO is an iOS app that lets you turn a photo of your face into a curated visual style. By installing or using STDIO, you agree to these Terms. The short version: use it for yourself and people who consented; subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel them through Apple; we own STDIO, you own what you make with it; if something breaks we're not on the hook for consequential damages. The full version is below.
01ACCEPTANCE
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the i01.kz team ("STDIO", "we", "us") — operating under a sole-proprietor legal entity registered in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. They govern your access to and use of the STDIO mobile application, the marketing site at stdio.wtf, and any related services we offer (together, the "Service").
By downloading, installing, or using STDIO, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
02ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 13 years old to use STDIO. If you are between 13 and 17, you may use STDIO only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Some markets may impose a higher minimum age; if your local law sets a higher threshold (for example 16 in parts of the EU), that threshold applies.
03THE SERVICE
STDIO lets you submit a photo and apply one of 141 curated AI styles to produce a transformed image. Generation is performed by a third-party model (OpenAI gpt-image-2) routed through our backend on Cloudflare Workers. Typical processing time is around 30 seconds; this is not a service-level guarantee.
The free tier includes three (3) generations per rolling seven (7) days. Generated images saved on the free tier carry a small "MADE WITH STDIO" watermark.
04SUBSCRIPTIONS
Plans
STDIO offers two auto-renewing subscription plans, sold through Apple as in-app purchases:
- STDIO PRO · Monthly (
stdio.monthly) — 30 generations per month, no watermark, all six App Icons unlocked, priority generation queue. - STDIO PRO · Annual (
stdio.annual) — same as Monthly, billed yearly at a discount.
The exact local-currency price is shown on the Paywall inside the app at the moment of purchase. The price you see on the Paywall is the price Apple will charge. STDIO does not offer an introductory free-trial period — subscriptions are billed in full from the first day.
Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions are billed by Apple to the payment method on your Apple ID. They auto-renew at the end of each billing period — monthly or annually — at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may notify you of a price change; the new price applies on the next renewal unless you cancel.
Free Tier
STDIO includes three free generations per device, available without a subscription. The free tier is not a trial and does not auto-convert into a paid subscription — once those three generations are used, the app prompts you to subscribe if you want to continue.
Cancellation
You manage and cancel subscriptions through Apple, not through STDIO:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap your Apple ID at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find STDIO and tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep Pro access through the end of the current paid period. The STDIO Settings screen also links directly to this Apple flow.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple and refunds are governed by Apple's policy. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly because we never see your payment.
05ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to use STDIO to:
- Submit a photo of any person who has not consented to being processed by STDIO — including any minor — except a photo of yourself.
- Submit a photo of a public figure, celebrity, or any other identifiable third party with the intent to impersonate, defame, harass, or commercially exploit them.
- Generate, save, or share content that is sexually explicit, depicts a minor in any sexualized context, glorifies violence, promotes hate against a protected group, or violates any law in your jurisdiction.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise discover the source code, model weights, or prompts of any component of the Service.
- Use the Service to train another machine-learning model, scrape it at scale, or otherwise interact with it in a manner that bypasses the rate limits and quotas described above.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with any security, watermarking, billing, or quota mechanism — including by spoofing device identifiers or transmitting fraudulent receipts.
We may suspend or permanently revoke your access to the Service — without refund — if we reasonably believe you have violated this section. We may also report illegal content to the appropriate authorities.
06YOUR CONTENT
What You Submit
You retain all rights you had in the photo you submit to STDIO (your "Input"). You represent and warrant that:
- you own or have the necessary rights and permissions in the Input;
- the Input does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; and
- the Input complies with the Acceptable Use section above.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited licence to use the Input solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you — i.e. transmitting it to OpenAI for generation and returning the result. The licence expires automatically once the generation request completes. We do not retain a copy.
What You Get Back
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you own the generated images returned by the Service (the "Output"). You may use the Output for personal or commercial purposes; we do not require attribution. However: AI-generated content sits in an evolving legal landscape. We make no representation that the Output is automatically copyrightable in every jurisdiction, that it is free of any third-party rights, or that any specific commercial use will be lawful. You are responsible for your own use of the Output.
07OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
STDIO, the STDIO wordmark, the STDIO app icons, all curated style names and prompts, the visual design of the app and marketing site, and the underlying source code are owned by us and protected by copyright, trade-mark, and other laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trade-marks, brand, or proprietary materials beyond what is necessary to use the Service for personal use.
08THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Service depends on third-party processors — including OpenAI, Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, PostHog, and Sentry — each governed by its own terms and privacy policy. By using STDIO, you also agree to comply with any of those terms that apply to your use. A current list of sub-processors lives in our Privacy Policy.
09SERVICE AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
We work to keep the Service available, but we offer it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, remove, or modify styles, features, pricing, free-tier limits, or any other aspect of the Service at any time. Where a change materially reduces a paid benefit, we will give you reasonable advance notice through the app or by email if you have provided one.
The Service depends on OpenAI's image-generation API. If OpenAI suspends or modifies that API in a way that prevents STDIO from generating images, we will refund any Pro subscriber the prorated unused portion of their current billing period.
10DISCLAIMERS
11LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under your local consumer-protection law.
12INDEMNITY
You agree to defend and indemnify us against any third-party claim arising out of (a) your Input or your use of any Output, (b) your violation of these Terms or any law, or (c) your infringement of any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights. We will give you prompt notice of any such claim and reasonable cooperation in the defence.
13TERMINATION
You may stop using STDIO at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms or if continued provision becomes commercially or legally impracticable. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law — will continue to apply.
14GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by the competent courts of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, except where your local consumer-protection law gives you the unwaivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
15APPLE-SPECIFIC TERMS
Because STDIO is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following terms apply between you and Apple Inc. ("Apple"):
- These Terms are between you and STDIO only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for STDIO or its content.
- Your right to use STDIO is limited to the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for STDIO.
- If STDIO fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to STDIO.
- STDIO, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to STDIO, including product-liability, consumer-protection, and intellectual-property claims.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will change the Last Updated date at the top and post a notice inside the app before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription through Apple.
17MISCELLANEOUS
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and STDIO regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor entity.
